Dr. Ira S. Ockene

The Director of Preventive Cardiology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a long-time collaborator of Dr. Hébert’s including on a number of diet-intervention and observational studies that have had a significant impact on the fields of preventive cardiology, preventive medicine, nutrition, and public health. Dr. Ockene, a thought leader in the field for many decades, also has been on the forefront of patient-centered counseling, including the use of communication technologies to improve patient-provider communications.
